Back in Arizona

Well we’re back in Arizona close to family and have worked out pretty good deal on a place to stay. We are at the P & M Horse Arena in East Mesa AZ. In exchange for a full hook-up and utilities Larry has to groom the arena before the horse riding events. This is usually on Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. We also have to feed cattle every morning. Larry enjoys driving the tractor to groom the arena so it’s not bad. The Motor Home site is nice with a lot of room and a beautiful view of the desert out the front window. Outside the dining table window is a good view of the Superstition Mountains. The surrounding desert is BLM land and has some nice trials for hiking and riding our mountain bikes. It’s also nice to watch all the horses during the horse events.

It's nice to have room for the grandkids to play and ride their bikes. We also take them hiking out in the desert.

Leaving Nebraska, on to Arizona

Well we’re finally leaving Nebraska headed for Arizona. It’s just in time with colder weather coming. And maybe snow! Here’s a picture of what it’s like trying to leave. Cattle on the highway blocking our way.


We are traveling straight to Arizona because we need to get the Motor Home emissions tested and registered. We are trying not to travel to fast staying off the interstate taking the smaller highways and doing a little sight seeing. Here’s a picture of some salt lakes we saw in New Mexico when stopped for a break. When we stop we will turn on the T.V. cook some lunch and just relax for a while.


When we got close to Apache Junction, AZ we stopped and spend the night in the Salt River Canyon. Here’s a picture taken in the Canyon.

Pumpkin Chuckin

On Halloween went to the small town of Petersburg to watch the Pumpkin Chuckin contest. The object was to see how far you could chuck a pumpkin. The home made devices varied in the way they were made. There was also a contest on accuracy. This device used compress air and shot the pumpkin over 600 yards. It was pretty impressive.
